I draw from my past experience in architecture to develop large-scale installations and paintings. A native of Tokyo, Japan, I am inspired by the city’s vibrant fashion scene and ultimately decided to use denim as the central medium in my work. Using 180-foot-long rolls of vintage Japanese denim, I grace my canvas with folding, distressing and freehand strokes to create remarkable illustrations that pay homage to the spirited style culture that first inspired me.
In my artwork, there are no permanent images. Although you may find similar imagery or materials in use, every project is completely unique different from the rest. It’s just like water, in the sense that you can use it in many ways: Consumption, Bathing, Spiritual, Sexual, Energy, etc.
